Replacing a JE suction piece...

Have a friend that just grounded his boat and broke the suction piece pretty good. I have rebuilt dozens of pumps, but have never been involved in replacing this part. It appears that they use some sort of epoxy from the manufacturer to seal it up to the boat?
Anyone been down this road before....thanks for any info or links
