Low Winter Sun: "No Rounds" Review

With this week’s episode “No Rounds,” Low Winter Sun continues to inch its way toward good entertainment but still doesn’t quite make it. This episode does make strides in making Agnew a character that you want to sympathize with even if you don’t actively do so. Still, if you can make it through the heavy handed shots of dirty deeds juxtaposed with images of Jesus on the cross and patriotic imagery at the start of the show, there’s some pretty interesting stuff to be found.


“No Rounds” gives some attention to Agnew and Geddes both, as they attempt to cover the tracks of McCann’s murder. So… more of the same, really. That said, though they’ve been doing the same things for three episodes now, there’s a very important line that comes from Agnew where he makes it abundantly clear to Geddes that covering their tracks shouldn’t come at the expense of someone innocent going down. It’s a fleeting line that really makes all the difference in the world; whether or not they agree on that sentiment is a different story, but one would hope a disagreement in that regard could make for exciting drama down the line.
