BBC Advice needed

I have a gen 4 468 2 bolt main. It's set up already for v drive with pan and been running in my 76 Howard bubble deck. I recently came up on a gen 5 502 high output (short block only) with standard in board out board set up oil pan. I am trying to decide if it's worth the time and effort and especially the money to set that gen 5 502 to take the place of 468 that's already set up and running. Are those cubic inches I'd gain worth the effort??? Thanks for advice in advance
