No, "Outbreak" wasn't as frustratingly bad as last week's "Manhunt," but Under the Dome still has a long way to go before I fully consider it "appointment television." While nothing brought us any closer to solving the dome dilemma, and people still acted with an astounding lack of urgency about the whole ordeal, a couple of series potholes got filled in by the end - with Big Jim finally discovering Angie down in the bunker and Julia learning, more or less, the truth about Barbie and her husband.
Also, someone actually had the common sense to ask, out loud, "What if the dome lasts forever?" This was toward the end, with Carolyn asking Alice about their chances of overall survival. My questions is, naturally, why isn't everyone asking this? All the time? Alice responded with "It won't." Because reasons. And I'll say this much: there's a much better chance of a giant, immovable mystery dome not ever moving from its spot than there is of it just not being there one day. But, curiously, everyone on the show seems to be operating under the assumption that this won't last.
