Nvidia Shield Finally Shipping July 31st

Originally scheduled to launch June 27th, Nvidia's Shield was delayed as a result of a mechanical issue found with one of the handheld gaming unit's components. Now the company has announced that the problem has been resolved and the portable is in full production with shipping set to start on July 31st. The handheld will be available for the recently reduced price of $299 and, for a limited time, those who order one will get a Shield t-shirt free of charge.

Avengers 2: No Hank Pym, New Ultron Origin

The Avengers writer-director Joss Whedon said Sunday at San Diego Comic-Con that superhero-scientist Hank Pym (aka Ant-Man/Giant Man) won't be in his sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron.

And since Pym won't be in the film, Whedon revealed that Ultron -- the villainous robot created by Pym in the comics -- will have a different origin story in the big screen version. (Fans are already speculating that Tony Stark will now be Ultron's creator instead.)

Comic-Con: Beware the Batman Producers on Their Approach

Beware the Batman recently premiered on the DC Nation block, and it presents a new take on the superhero. Voice actors Anthony Ruivivar (Batman) and J.B. Blanc (Alfred) joined producers Glen Murakami and Mitch Watson at Comic-Con to screen a new episode and talk about the new perspective on the character.

The episode they screened, “Broken,” explored the beginnings of the Humpty Dumpty story and Batman's first encounter with the character. They want to put a fresh spin on all of the characters they bring into the series, and this episode was a shining example. Their Humpty Dumpty is maniacal and scary and his voice will give you chills. The episode also showcased the series' sleek CGI style and noir-like vibe.
