Dolly Trailer Question

I'd like to install two of these steps, on my dolly trailer. I'm trying to decide where to mount them when not in use. Any suggestions?

I was kind of thinking to make a longer receiver, and a shorter step tube that could slide deeper into the receiver when not in use.

Welcome to Horsepower Fest! The new event that brings all aspect of horsepower together!
This event we be taking place during the day on November 12th, 2016 at The Avi Resort & Casino in Laughlin, NV on the grass between the hotel and the river. It encompasses all things horsepower related. If your hobby is to make power, we want you there! Bring your boat, truck, car, or offroad vehicle and enter it in the show to be awarded prizes! If you just want to come just check it out - GREAT! Admission is free!

Spectating is FREE!

Admission is FREE for spectators! No catch! Just show up and have a good time and check out the sweet rides. There will be food, beverages and alcohol available - no outside food or drinks allowed. All spectators are required to enter through the casino. This is a family oriented event and we encourage to bring the whole family out! Sorry - no dogs allowed.

Show Registration

Show registration is $50 for each vehicle and includes an event T-Shirt ($20 Value) $10 for each additional class. Online Pre-Regisration is located below. Space is extremely limited. If you are showing a boat, all tow vehicles must be parked in general parking once boat and trailer is placed in the show area. If you are towing your car, truck, or off road vehicle, you must park the tow vehicle and trailer in general parking once the vehicle is placed in the show area.

Vendors

We will have an assortment of Food Trucks and various Merchandise Vendors at this event. Please email vendors@horsepowerfest.com if you are interested in becoming a vendor. As we get more vendors registered, we will be giving them shutouts. Check back for a list of vendors soon!

Raffles

There will be a large raffle program incorporated in this event. We aren't wasting our time raffling of shirts and hats. We are going after the big stuff! Check back soon as we list the items to be raffled!

Neovane Pump Question

BBC, Neovane 755? pump.
Replaced impeller, got ready to start engine and placed inlet hose from pump into full 5 gallon bucket of water (water level within 6 inches of height of center of pump-see pic). Ran engine, no water downstream of thermostat even though temp well above 160 opening temp of thermostat. The inlet line was dry - didn't appear that pump primed.
Took pump off, ran with drill motor with inlet in cup of water and primed and pumped as expected.
Replaced everything and was going to run the motor for a bit in the shop so decided it would be good to top off engine with water to ensure heads and block were full. Started pouring water into the thermostat housing and water started running out the INLET of the pump.
Is this normal? Any ideas why it wouldn't prime? Does anyone run a check valve in the inlet line to ensure pump has water to prime with?
Pay no attention to tow vehicle or dangling wires...still a ways from hitting the water.

I can't be trusted anymore...

So I have a story to tell...most of you know that I restored a 1965 Howard 17 footer for my wife about five seasons ago..bad ass little boat and it is so cool to drive and own. I get compliments on her all the time...it's been a pleasure to own..







I have tried for years to go to the Howard Regatta and just have never made it...What a shock that would be to pull up in a 1965 hull..really anticipated that moment, just never happened.

I acquired the boat basically from the second owner..and he has been a friend for almost 40 years. He is the one who said it was a HOWARD...so never a question from me. Boat has no badges and of course no ID numbers anywhere on the hull...

So imagine my surprise as I'm driving down the Parker strip last Monday and my brother says to me..."man that boat looks like Linda's"...I look over and drive by...it looks like any other mid sixties flatty to me...but on the way back by..I pull in..get out of boat and walk up to the boat in the water...and yes it is a twin to my wife's beloved Howard...Guy walks down and I say "nice Howard" thinking this guy will think I'm the smartest SOB known to old flatty's...he looks at me and says "No, it's not a Howard"...and of course I now know that this guy is the dumbest SOB I have met lately... he say's "it's a 65 Byers"...now I just confirmed my last sentence..Dumb SOB...know's nothing. But being the guy I am...I will give him one more chance..."are you SURE on the make?" I question...his response to me.."My Dad bought it brand new and I have all the paper work"..."ya know they splashed lot's of boats back then"...this dumb SOB says to me..then I look at the boat closer...real close..left side tach horn on deck..check. Inside stringer steering...check..Nicson pulley's...check...seats...check..small block chevy power..check...and now my mind starts to reel...could this possibly be..Hell, my wife and I have Howard hats for Christ's sake...then my mind really starts to go and my knees get a little weak...I've never seen another Howard like our's...never...and I get around...Crap..

So I ask if I could send him some pics of our boat...he say's no..."I'm off the grid"...and quite frankly, he had no interest in my story anyway...cool guy...just not a bullshitter like your's truly..

We leave and I don't tell my wife about our conversation, I stew on the drive back and all I can think about is Bill Duke (retiredflatbottomracer) and talk to him about my predicament..after all we talk Howard all the time. So I go into bathroom to take care of business..and I get BD on the phone..tell him my story...and he says to me..in my best Oakie accent.."ya know Mike, I've never seen a Howard like your wife's boat"...shit, foiled again...

I get done with business and the text's start coming in...



Shit man...that's the boat...Now what the Hell do I do..do I come clean? Do I have to pull my head out of the business end of my body and actually admit that I am not the God of all hull makes...Oh for God sake's where does this end...My reputation is in total disarray..shambles, broken..how many lives have I changed by giving wrong info.

So please...this is my coming out party...I have nothing left..I sold my guns last weekend for fear of suicide...my friends are calling me a Poser...it's not good. Can't even get into my psychiatrist on this short notice...I leave you with pics of the boat that changed our lives last week...

I have some props that I am not using and would like to sell. The list is below in order of the prop lay out in the picture from left to right.

1. Precision Hydro prop 1 1/8 shaft 11 1/4 X 17 and came with my Kurtis I never ran this prop $300.00 OBO + the ride
2. Menkens Flat Bottom prop 1 inch shaft 11 X 16 that is like new and has never been in the water since I had them check it out. This one was a backup prop but now I have 1 1/8 shaft so no need for it $500.00 OBO + the ride
3. This prop was on White Trash (Flat Bottom) when I got it and it has no markings or size at all looks like a 11 but no idea on pitch and is for a 1 1/8 shaft $200.00 + the ride
